I was at my barber a while back and we got to discussing his new shop and the dreadful logo (I get chills even referring to it as such.) The reason it came up, well, I saw it one day as i was passing by and almost ran over a pedestrian from the state of confusion I was in. Fist question, “you know what I do for a living, right?” He did, but was reluctant to ask as it really wasn’t in his budget. His brand was in need of some serious help, so I enlisted my services in exchange for haircuts (and shaves if the mood strikes.)
THE BRIEF:
Create a logo that identifies with the urban lifestyle, yet retains a feel which is classic and will stand the test of time. This logo will be applied to shop windows and later carried out to business cards, product lines, etc. “The brand has to be as cool as my buddy’s shop in Brooklyn.”
The following is the shop window… which is why I question if this was a rebrand at all.

Now that you see what I am talking about, I’m sure you understand where I’m coming from. Below is the new and improved logo.

We are currently working on a product line, so stay tuned for the packaging eye-candy.
